A Different Point of View

Thursday 27 October 2011, 10.00am – 3.00pm

Swinburne College lecture theatre, Swinburne University, Hawthorn

Her Voice - Art Journaling Rev Dr. Fiona Hill

The key aim of this final event of the 2011 Boroondara Interfaith Network Program was to raise awareness and open a dialogue between community members and service providers on the diversity of mental health and wellbeing needs and understandings in our multicultural community. It attracted a  range of interesting presenters and participants from faith and cultural communities, service provider organisations and Swinburne University.

The forum highlighted that in the context of a multicultural society it is important to recognise different cultural and religious understandings, different community and life structures, and life experiences which shape and define how individuals experience mental health and wellbeing.

Thank you to Newton Daddow, Fiona Hill, Tina Malaeb and Tara Godbold from the organising team of this event. It was a pleasure to partner with Swinburne University. We welcome partnerships with community organisations in Boroondara and look forward to more events with religious communities, education institutions and support organisations in 2012.

Please find an event report, presentations and links to further information on the A Different Point of View event page of this blog.
